Otaku Collectives x Akiba Station: Inside L.A. Comic Con's Biggest Anime Experience

Otaku Collectives brings back its curated anime and Japanese pop culture experience for a second year, expanding on its 2025 debut.

We're bringing Akiba Station back to Los Angeles Comic Con this October, running October 30 through November 1, 2026, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The 40,000-square-foot activation marks the second year of our partnership with L.A. Comic Con, following a debut that grew into the largest anime experience in the convention's history.

Akiba Station occupies the West Hall and draws visual and cultural influences from Tokyo's Akihabara district, including neon signage, arcade elements, street food, and dedicated anime shopping areas. The space includes the Akiba Food Market, voice actor appearances, panel programming, cosplay meetups, and curated exhibitor zones featuring Japanese artists and anime brands.

"Akiba Station was created by anime fans, for anime fans," said Johnny Chang, our founder and CEO. "This isn't about simply repeating what worked last year. It's about building on that momentum and creating something bigger for every type of anime fan, whether you're a longtime collector or someone discovering the culture for the first time."

This year's expansion includes new scenic elements and a larger footprint, with additional talent and exhibitor announcements coming over the next few weeks. Returning partners are also increasing their presence within the space.

Otaku Collectives began as a pop-up vendor at conventions, selling officially licensed, Japan-exclusive merchandise. We've since grown into a recurring vendor presence at conventions nationwide. Akiba Station is a large-scale activation built in partnership with a convention organizer, extending that retail foundation into a dedicated experiential space.
